Why Coaching?

Good Question. I asked that question at one point too, when I was at a low point in my career and practice.

Many moons ago, I experienced a significant burnout in my arts and nonprofit career. With the support of a leadership coach, I rediscovered my grounding and renewed my passion for my work.

About a year later, I began to wonder if coaching could be the key to unlocking not only individual career potential but also broader opportunities. At that time, I was already assisting small nonprofits as a fundraising consultant. One observation stood out to me: clients often left meetings knowing what needed to be done, yet they didn't always follow through. What was missing?

Simultaneously, I was pursuing my Master of Innovation and Strategic Foresight, collaborating with peers from various industries. We often pondered how organizations could truly change and transform for the better. What were the barriers to systemic change?

We can have all the tools, frameworks, and best practices, but without the will and commitment to act, everything falters.

Human behavior and motivation are far more complex than simply doing what we know is best for ourselves. Once I became trained as a coach, I discovered the missing link for helping individuals and organizations achieve the shifts they desire.

One inspiring question at a time, one coaching conversation at a time, we can change ourselves and the world for the better.
